Quotes
"While grief is fresh, every attempt to divert only irritates. You must wait till it be digested, and then amusement will dissipate the remains of it."
-- Samuel Johnson, English author, critic, & lexicographer
"I love life...Yeah, I'm sad, but at the same time, I'm really happy that something could make me feel that sad. It's like...It makes me feel alive, you know. It makes me feel human. The only way I could feel this sad now is if I felt something really good before. So I have to take the bad with the good. So I guess what I'm feeling is like a beautiful sadness."
-- Trey Parker and Matt Stone, South Park, Raisins, 2003?
I LOVE YOU BLUE!
Blue.... my beautiful, baby Blue...
I had the opportunity to invest in a new car, put a bunch of money down, and therefore pay significantly less for a new vehicle. By putting it all down, I would save -- literally SAVE-- thousands of dollars. THOUSANDS in interest over the life of the loan. Being the intellectual giant I am, I thought about this, and thought, and thought, and promptly did what any right thinking, intellectual giant would do.
I took a chunk of money and bought a super expensive (relatively speaking) road bike. I purchased the ever-ellusive (except they had 2 in the shop) Specialized Dolce Elite, with Shimano gears and other cool stuff-I-have-no-idea-what-they-do-or-why-they-are-so-cool. For those not in the know, "dolce" is Italian for "sweet." And baby is she sweet. All those amazing components I have that clearly serve to demonstrate my ignorance make my ride smooth, baby. Smooth as silk on a baby's bottom that's sitting on snot on a glass doorknob. And its fast-- faster than some kind of simile that makes incredible sense. AND-and it's attractive... frankly, that is all I really care about: my cool factor as I ride the bike.
I am a connoisseur of fine things, and as such, I was on the market for a RED bike... but they didn't have my bike in that color. So I got the blue.
Ain't she just so dolce?
